The COVID-19 pandemic has heavily jolted world systems to the roots. All facets of life have been questioned: individual, corporates, governments of nations, and especially marriage/family foundations. All these segments of existence have been frantically questioned financially, socially, mentally and in many precise respects than can be mentioned exhaustively.
The massive social and economic disequilibrium caused by the pandemic has left the minds of many people actively seeking stability and a sustainable one too.
Economically speaking, quite a number of people especially in Nigeria and I believe all over the world are critically reconsidering the aspects of economy and society that were essential and could not be shut down despite the world-wide lockdown. These include; the digital space, health, and food business.
Many people are considering the different aspects of food business, technically referred to as value chain, ranging from production activities (crop or livestock), to processing, distribution, and merchandising at wholesale or retail levels.
We operate mainly in the production rung of the ladder and we are heavily invested therein. In our posts following this, I will be highlighting and discussing extensively from personal experience of almost a decade, the mistakes that new entrants into any aspect of food business make and which they must avoid this season. I will discuss this with special reference to production activities (crop and animal) but certainly not production alone.
Among the subjects we will discuss are:
- How to resign your job, run a farm successfully, and earn more than your last Salary.
- How NOT to deploy retirement benefits to Agribusiness.
- How to be successful at Poultry Farming: Real and Practical Advice
- How to succeed in Pig Farming: Real and Practical Advice
